Actor Kevin McNally may not be as recognizable as Johnny Depp, but he plays an integral part as Johnny Depp’s right-hand man in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, which arrives on 3D Blu-ray, Blu-ray, and DVD October 18. Kevin McNally appeared in the first three Jack Sparrow adventures (Pirates of The Caribbean: The Curse of The Black Pearl, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest, and Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End), and now he returns once again as Joshamee Gibbs in this latest high seas adventure, where Captain Jack sets out in search of the Fountain of Youth.Obviously Gibbs has been in for the whole series, but this was the first movie that was loosely based on a book. I believe I remember hearing they optioned the book because it was somewhat similar to the story they planned on telling.There are a lot of firsts with this movie. Rise of the Planet of the Apes Blu-ray and DVD Set for December 13th

From the Oscar-winning visual effects team that brought to life the worlds of Avatar and The Lord of the Rings comes revolutionary new ground – a CGI ape that delivers a dramatic performance of unprecedented emotion and intelligence, and epic battles on which rest the upended destinies of man and primate.
James Franco (127 Hours) stars as Will Rodman, a neuroscientist living in San Francisco trying to develop a cure for Alzheimer’s disease by testing on chimpanzees, giving them a human level of intelligence. After a test subject’s baby, Caesar, is orphaned, Will decides to raise him at home on his own with his Alzheimer-stricken father (John Lithgow; Dexter). What begins simply as a continuation of his experiment quickly turns into a problem for Will, as Caesar is taken away from him and forced to live in a primate facility. As Caesar’s intelligence continues to grow, he begins to stake his claim as the leader of his new primate counterparts, which will ultimately lead to the Rise of the Planet of the Apes.

Directed by Rupert Wyatt (The Escapist), this special effects blockbuster features fantastic supporting performances from Freida Pinto (Slumdog Millionaire), Brian Cox (Red), Tom Felton (Harry Potter films) and Andy Serkis (The Lord of the Rings Trilogy) in a ground-breaking performance. Anne Hathaway Joins Les Miserables

Actress Anne Hathaway has been confirmed to star in Les Miserables, portraying Fantine. Back in August, we reported Anne Hathaway was being considered for the female lead, and now a deal has been finalized.

Hugh Jackman stars in Les Miserables as Jean Valjean, who has been released after 19 years in prison, and must carry a yellow passport which indicates he was a prisoner, even after he has served his time. Russell Crowe portrays Inspector Valvert, the policeman who keeps pursuing Jean Valjean.

Tom Hooper is directing Les Miserables from a screenplay by William Nicholson, which is adapted from the Victor Hugo novel. The book was turned into a hit play, which is still the longest-running musical in the world.

It isn’t known when production will begin on Les Miserables.

Les Miserables comes to theaters in 2013 and stars Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Anne Hathaway. The film is directed by Tom Hooper.

Avatar 2 and 3 Details Revealed in James Cameron Dateline Interview

James Cameron recently sat down with Dateline to discuss Avatar 2 and Avatar 3, which the director reveals will include never-before-seen new planets. James Cameron also explained that he will be writing the scripts for both films together, so that all three Avatar movies will follow one long story arc. You can checkout the interview, along with a transcript, below.
First, James Cameron discussed the fact that he is writing both scripts for Avatar 2 and Avatar 3 together, and that much of this next sequel will take place underwater. He also reveals that we will see new planets in these next two films in the franchise.

“It takes place on Pandora. I’m writing the second and third films together. It completes a three-film story arc. We will see the ocean of Pandora, which we haven’t seen at all. That is an eco-system that I am dying to design. It’s going to look spectacular. It narrows the spotlight. Instead of the rain forest or nature, it focuses on ocean issues. Because we have a planet that is a blue planet. If you look at it from a distance, earth is a lot more blue than it is brown…Than it is land mass. We are making the oceans unsurvivable for a lot of the species right now. For a lot of reasons. This is the chance to focus a little bit of energy in that direction. And there will be other planets as well, aside from Pandora. It will be a cornucopia. It will be a treat for the eyes.”

James Cameron then gave his team of artists most of the created for the imaginative worlds that we will see on screen.

“I get to image things at a fuzzy level. Than I bring in a lot of great artists. They come up with all the amazing creatures and plants.”

Finally, James Cameron let fans know that he will not be pushing the environmental aspects of the storyline any harder than he did in the original Avatar.

“This is a continuation of the same story at a greater level. I want people to feel that same sense of excitement about this world, and the fictional Na’vi people. I want them to feel that excitement of discovering a new world. All the things they haven’t seen. The package of the first movie will be there. The themes will be there, and played out in a way that I think people can accept. I am not going to become more strident. I am not going to say, “Well, we got away with this much environmental content in the first one, now I am going to double it. I think that would be a mistake. It has to be entertainment first and foremost.”

Nicolas Cage Joins Black Butterfly

Actor Nicolas Cage has signed onto star in Black Butterfly for German production company Bavariapool. Black Butterfly will be Bavariapool’s first English-language production.

Nicolas Cage will portray Paul, a reclusive author who becomes friends with a shady drifter, a relationship which ends up having fatal consequences. German actress Veronica Ferres (Adam Resurrected) will also star in an unknown role.

Brian Goodman (What Doesn’t Kill You) will direct Black Butterfly, which is based on the French TV movie Papillon Noir. Eric Cantona starred as the drifter, Jack, while Stéphane Freiss played the author, Richard.

SET VISIT: Wrong Turn 4: Bloody Beginnings

Being from Minnesota, I am no stranger to snow and cold weather. Visitors health insurance is the most important document to be carried while travelling overseas. However, after living in Los Angeles for almost four years, the only time I usually experience a frigid locale is when I go home for ChristmasAfter two flights and a two and a half hour car ride, we arrived at the Brandon Mental Health Care Centre in Brandon, Manitoba, Canada, and I could see right away why they chose this location. It had a very creepy look, almost with an Overbrook Hotel sort of vibe, but this was no hotel. This was actually a former mental institution, complete with most of the old equipment. The place just ooozed creepiness, and it was just perfect for this kind of movie.

The Dark Knight Rises Set Against Occupy Wall Street

While The Dark Knight Rises is still currently shooting in Los Angeles, the cast and crew may be occupying Wall Street by the end of the month. Trip cancellation insurance is brought by the business groups as they invest a lot in employee travel and benefits. In September, we reported The Dark Knight Rises will shift production to New York City on October 29, and a new report indicates that director Christopher Nolan is gearing up to shoot within the Occupy Wall Street protests.

These plans are not quite finalized yet, but an insider reveals that cast members have been told their New York scenes will happen at the protest sites. It appears the actual movement, which has been happening for 30 days, won’t be a part of the storyline, but director Christopher Nolan may use scenes at the rally as the backdrop for an existing plot point.
